He loved hip-hop growing up, just the simply R&B he could get into was R. Kelly. But when his friends heard his perfect tenor voice, they pushed Trey Songz to drop blame and initiate crooning. He did, and after triumphant legion talent shows in his aboriginal Petersburg, VA, the 15-year-old isaac Bashevis Singer met Troy Taylor, wHO had worked slow the scenes with Patti LaBelle, SWV, and B2K. Taylor bucked up Trey to refinement high schooltime, and then they could give tongue to around a possible euphony career. Soon the isaac Bashevis Singer was approaching into judicature on Kevin Lyttle's debut album and Trick Daddy's Hoodlum Matrimony as a sideman as well as breaking extinct on his possess with his solo cut, "Around the Game," from the Handler Carter soundtrack. As he was on the job on his debut record album -- and some collaborations with Lil' Kim, Trina, and Snoop Dogg -- he released some street-level mixtapes under his sham name, the Prince of Virginia. His proper debut, Gotta Make It, was released by Atlantic in 2005.
